3 Out of 4 People Use the Same Password for Email and Social Media

The number 1 reason for hacking is ID Thief. Although it is often difficult and inconvenient to remember and use different passwords for everything, it is important to understand the different environments we access, and the security of each. The Internet security firm BitDefender released a study that the majority of people use the same password for both social networking and email accounts. This easy access to information is an open door to attackers who are able to harvest this data and use it to hack email accounts in order to further propagate malware and ID Thief. When choosing passwords, do not use the same password for everything! Email, banking and social networking site need to be different.
